Position Overview:
This role is responsible for the oversight and leadership of all daily plant operations including compliance with all safety/regulatory agencies, quality control, production scheduling, production, transportation and material sourcing. The position offers the ability to grow within an organization that strives for exceptional customer service and unmatched quality precast products for the SW Florida underground utility markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports EHS and Plant Management as it relates to safety in the workplace. Stay up to date on best practices related to our industry.
- Plans, prepares and revises production schedules according to customer needs, workload, production goals and backlog.
- Communicates lead times and schedules with customers to achieve project timelines.
- Responsible for minimizing finished goods inventory by utilizing customer priority and anticipation dates while composing production schedules.
- Evaluates the quality of craftsmanship daily in all that we do. Maintains a high standard for producing high quality precast components. Works with plant Quality Assurance to consistently set the standard and looks for ways to improve quality.
- Oversees Plant Management to ensure organizational tools are in place and looks for ways to improve processes to achieve maximum efficiencies.
- Oversees Transportation Manager to ensure on time deliveries of products and customer needs are met while knowing and controlling freight costs.
- Works with Project Management, Sales and Estimating teams to ensure plant capabilities are not exceeded, looks for best ways to meet customers requirements.
- Ensures raw material inventory levels are adequate for current and forecasted production demands, works with Plant Management to ensure all inventory levels are adjusted to meet demand.
- Reviews and approves plant expense accounts, vendor POs and other plant operation expenses.
- Monitors metrics to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the business.
- Works closely with the General Manager on facility infrastructure and capital expenditures.
- Reviews BOM cost and standard costs across business functions to ensure accurate job costing
- Maintain and manage annual operational and cost related budgets.
- Recruit and develop individuals to build the teams’ capabilities at all levels to ensure continued growth of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in high paced, customer-focused environment
- Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within manufacturing facilities
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions to prevent them from occurring again in the future
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience using manufacturing software such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Titan II
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- P&L Management
- BS Degree or Equivalent experience
- 5+years in managerial or supervisory role
