Haarup supplies the concrete industry with batching and mixing equipment. We build plants and 

machinery with minimum downtime, service costs, and parts costs, which is just some of the 

many core values our company takes pride in. All core equipment is designed and produced in-house at Haarup’s factory in Denmark. This position is located at our North American office, in 

Ridgefield, WA.

Job Summary

The sales engineer will be the main point of contact for existing and new clients. A very 

important part of the job is to help the clients find out what they need and how we can help and 

assist them to achieve their goals. An important skill is, therefore, find solutions through 

conversations, sketches, and calculations, this is done through meetings with the customer and 

discussions with colleagues within Haarup.


Job Functions

- Understands lean concepts and initiates improvements to improve efficiency and reduce 

costs. 

- Follows written policies, procedures, and best practices.

- Performs other duties assigned. 

- Establish new accounts, obtain orders, and service existing accounts by organizing a daily 

work schedule to call on potential and existing sales leads

- Keep the company’s CRM system updated with activity and reports, both new and 

ongoing accounts. 

- Responsible for achieving company sales revenue goals and creating new ones each year. 

- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information

- Develop and maintain deep technical knowledge of the company and its equipment


Job Specifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.

Technical background.

Sales or Industry related experience.


Requirements

- Must be willing to travel in North America and possibly Europe, as required. 

- Must be able to perform manual labor, work in dirty/dusty environments, and able to 

climb heights. 

- Must be fluent in English.

- Must have a good driving record.

- Must be able to get a US Passport.

Physical Demands.

Frequent long days.

Lifting and climbing.

Extensive travel.


Skills Required

- Willingness to travel extensively to maintain contact with a customer base and new 

customers

- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Outlook, and willingness to learn company CRM system 

along with QuickBooks. 

- Ability to prioritize effectively, excellent organizational skills, and manage multiple tasks 

simultaneously

- Technical aptitude with a strong ability to learn and apply technical knowledge related to 

products and processes

- Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills required

- Ability to remain calm and professional during periods of high activity

- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle shifting deadlines and priorities

- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment

- Ability to manage time and personal ownership, along with pride for the quality of work

- Strict adherence to safety protocols while at our facility and while traveling to customers

- Willingness to assist in other areas of the company as needed
