Sales Engineer – Prestressed Concrete

Job Summary
Glacier Precast Concrete is seeking a Sales Engineer to lead the development and expansion of its prestressed concrete product line. This is a unique opportunity to build a market from the ground up, driving specification, developing client relationships, and establishing sales processes for a growing structural product offering.
The Sales Engineer will play a critical role in shaping the company’s entry into the structural building market by working closely with engineers, contractors, and internal teams to deliver innovative precast solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Drive specification of prestressed wall panels with structural engineers and architects during design development.
- Build and manage a pipeline of commercial, institutional, and DOT projects across Montana and surrounding markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, and industry stakeholders.
Technical Sales & Estimating
- Interpret structural drawings, load tables, and panel designs to create accurate proposals.
- Ensure alignment between project requirements and production capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales cycle.
Operations & Collaboration
- Coordinate with production teams on lead times, configurations, and delivery schedules.
- Partner with operations to align customer expectations and production capabilities.
- Contribute to development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sales and production processes.
Market Development & Representation
- Represent the company at industry events (PCI, AGC, AIA).
- Build a professional network that supports long-term specification influence.
- Establish and refine sales processes, pipeline management, and proposal workflows.
Qualifications
Education
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Engineering required.
Experience
- Experience in a sales or technical role within a PCI- or NPCA-certified precast organization.
- Demonstrated experience selling to structural engineers during design development.
- Experience with prestressed concrete systems preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of PCI MNL-116 standards and ACI 318 design.
- Understanding of prestressed strand patterns, camber, and load tables.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Territory & Travel
- Based in Kalispell, Montana or home office
- Travel required (40–60%)
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000
- Uncapped commission (performance-based)
- Year 1 OTE: $95,000 – $120,000
- Year 3 OTE potential: $150,000+
