The Opportunity
As VP of Operations, you will serve as the operational leader and second-in-command of J&H Services. You will oversee daily operations across the company, leading 10–12 senior staff members, including superintendents, shop managers, and materials leaders.
This is an opportunity for a proven operational executive to make an immediate impact by streamlining processes, improving profitability, and ensuring consistent delivery across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead all day-to-day operations across the organization, ensuring safety, quality, and profitability.
· Provide direct leadership and mentorship to senior operations leaders.
· Transition into full operational leadership within the first 2–3 months, while maintaining team stability.
· Analyze and oversee project financials, ensuring accurate forecasting and profitability.
· Drive process improvement, implementing systems to enhance consistency and efficiency.
· Partner with the President to identify strategic opportunities and execute growth initiatives.
· Maintain a strong presence in the field, supporting teams and reinforcing operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Expertise
· 20+ years of progressive leadership in civil construction operations.
· Deep experience with self-perform construction (underground, excavation, paving, concrete).
· Strong financial and business acumen with proven ability to interpret and act on project financials.
· Familiarity with CMAR (Construction Manager at Risk) project delivery.
